Horsemanship Coaching That Makes Sense

One-to-one coaching, problem solving, progressive courses, clinics and camps for horses and owners across the UK & Ireland.

Ways to Work With Me

One-to-One Coaching

Individual groundwork or ridden coaching at your own yard, built around you and your horse. Sessions can cover young-stock handling, confidence, communication, body control or general training, with clear steps you can continue between visits.

Problem Solving

Focused help with loading, mounting-block problems, leading, handling, feet, personal space, anxiety, rushing, bracing and other practical or behavioural difficulties. The aim is to understand the cause and give you a workable way forward.

Courses

Follow a progressive training pathway through the Groundwork Series, Ridden Fundamentals and In-Hand Series. Each course develops clear communication, balance, confidence and body control over time.

Clinics

Host a tailored one-day clinic at your yard, riding club or venue. The subject and structure can be shaped around what your group most needs help with, from groundwork and ridden work to confidence or practical problem solving.

Camps

Two- and three-day horsemanship camps offer time to go deeper, make meaningful progress and learn from the work with every horse in the group.

About

I’m a freelance horse trainer and problem-solver based in the North East of England, working with owners and riders at their own yards across the UK and Ireland.

My work focuses on developing clarity, confidence and understanding between horse and rider. This might mean building solid foundations with a young, anxious or reactive horse, or helping an already educated horse become freer, more comfortable and more consistent in their work.

I don’t take horses in for training, I come to you. Working in the horse’s normal environment allows the training to sit alongside how the horse is actually managed and ridden day-to-day, and ensures owners are fully involved in the process.

My approach is calm, structured and un-rushed. I don’t force progress or work to the clock, and I’m honest about what is appropriate and safe for the horse and rider on the day. Often the most meaningful changes come from improving understanding, timing and feel, rather than doing more or pushing harder.

A significant part of my work is educating owners and riders. My aim is always to leave you with clear, progressive steps and practical tools you can continue to apply yourself, rather than creating dependence on regular sessions.

I work with a wide range of horses and rider, from those rebuilding confidence or addressing behavioural issues, through to riders looking to refine communication and remove subtle physical or mental blocks in educated horses.

If you’re looking for quick fixes or force-based solutions, I’m probably not the right fit.

If you value thoughtful, honest work that puts understanding, safety and long-term progress first, you’re very welcome to get in touch.

"Anything forced or misunderstood can never be beautiful."
